On this webpage you will find eletronic gadgets, which are not direct assigned with amateur radio. Someones are complete projects, someones are only partial solutions or ideas.

Games to the top

I would like to introduce you to some games that I have created myself. They only form at the time the game board for one or for two players if the correct hardware is not available.

Kalaha Kalah is a strategy game for 2 players. The goal is to collect more tokens in the own winning bowl than the opponent. In the course of the game, one distributed the contents of the own game bowls among the other troughs.

Four in a row Four in a row is a strategy game for 2 players. The goal is to be the first who sets 4 balls in a row. A ball can set only if the ball is at the bottom or if another ball of any color is under it. Rows can be formed horizontally, vertically and diagonally.

Master Mind Super Master Mind In the game Master Mind (left), the goal is to find a 4-digit code of 6 colors with as few attempts as possible. In the game Super Master Mind (right) the goal is the same, but there is a 5-digit code of 8 colors. As a feedback, at both games hints about a correct position or at least an existing color are given after each attempt.

WE1 - World radio ELV Elektronik to the top

World radio WE1 by ELV The broadcast radio I use at the time is usuable only for USW/FM and DAB+. But with all radios which I found and which are usuable for DAB+, lacked the radio shortwave bands. And there have also my amateur radio transceiver does not have a continuous receiving area, I was pleased to found the kit for a world radio. Sure, you could just buy a world radio, but then the fun factor in homebrewing would be completely absent.
World radio WE1 by ELV The WE1 based on the Si4844 by SiLabs. With this circuit the WE1 covers the following frequency bands: 87 to 108 MHz, 21.2 to 22 MHz, 17.1 to 18 MHz, 15 to 15.9 MHz, 13.4 to 14.2 MHz, 11.45 to 12.25 MHz, 9.2 to 10 MHz, 6.8 to 7.6 MHz, 5.6 to 6.4 MHz and 522 to 1665 kHz. It is therefore suitable for the receiving of the shortwave bands 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 31, 41 and 49 m, of the medium wave und the USW/FM range.
World radio WE1 by ELV The receiver has a LC-display to show the frequency, a LED bar graph and a 1 W speakers (headphone operation possible). A ferrite rod is integrated on the board, a exteren loop antenna can be put in by a jack. The sensitivity is given as 30 µV AM and 2.2 µV FM. The radio can be supplied from the 3 V of two series-connected AA cells (Mignon, R6). The current consumption is 45 mA if the internal loudspeaker is in use. All SMD parts are already soldered. Dimensions: 16.5 × 8.8 × 5.5 cm
The kit for the world radio WE1 (order no. 141729) is buyable from ELV Elektronik.

KLU2001 - DCF77 controlled clock ELV Elektronik to the top

DCF77 controlled clock KLU2001 by ELV Surely people use a clock with pointers at home, which is controlled automatically by courtesy of the signal of a time signal transmitter. Usually here in central Europe the transmitter DCF77 in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt/Main) on 77.5 kHz is in use for it. Long time hung also such a clock at the wall at home. But it had mechanically pointers, which induced strongly audible clicks at night. So I was glad, when it conking out long time before.
DCF77 controlled clock KLU2001 by ELV Actually I wanted to build myself thereafter a purely electronic analog clock, because the other available clocks have only a digital display. But I had no time for it. But recently I discovered again the clock in a catalog, which should serve once as sample for the do-it-yourself clock. The KLU2001 has 120 LEDs arranged in 2 circles instead of the 3 pointers. The hourly markings form likewise LEDs. In the center still day and month (digital) are indicated. Before I change my mind again, I fast ordered the kit.
DCF77 controlled clock KLU2001 by ELV Because all SMD parts are already soldered, so the assembly was comfortably tackled at a weekend. The clock is 19.5 × 19.5 cm largely and 3.5 cm deeply. It can be put on the table or hung to the wall. The front and the back panel are made from clear red perspex. For its use only a with 65 mA loadable supply terminal is necessary . It noticed to me that the used DCF77 receiver is substantially more sensitive than e.g. the one in my bell. Thus the synchronisation takes place faster and more safer.
The kit for the clock KLU2001 (order no. 046726) was buyable from ELV Elektronik.
